Im Mai 2025 erlitt ich einen Herzstillstand und wurde wiederbelebt.
Ich, Leonhard Yngvi (aka Ingo Leonhard), bezeichne mich als Indie-Musiker, bin Multiinstrumentalist, Hauptinstrument Piano, lebe derzeit in Schleswig-Holstein.
Meine komponierte Musik entsteht am Piano, der Orgel oder einem Blasinstrument, das Genre lege ich ungern vorher fest, es könnte in Richtung New Classics, NuJazz, Blues oder Folk gehen. Elektronische Einflüsse kommen oft in der weiteren Bearbeitung mit hinzu. Seit Oktober 2025 veröffentliche ich meine Musik.
Ich habe mit 7 Jahren mit klassischem Klavier angefangen, später kamen Trompete, Saxophon u.a. dazu. Seit ich 17 war, habe ich in Blues- und Jazzbands gespielt. Jetzt habe ich begonnen, mit DAWs zu arbeiten, und mich unabhängiger von festen Stilen zu machen.
Als Autor bin ich öffentlich seit 2011, mit dem Schreiben angefangen habe ich etwa mit Mitte/Ende 40. Werbung dafür habe ich bislang keine gemacht. Hab ja noch so viel Zeit. Dachte ich.
Auch mit 70 Jahren und älter kann man sein Leben verändern und neu starten. Nicht einfach, okay, aber wenn man bereit ist, zu lernen und offen zu sein, wird es klappen. Ich möchte mit meinen Büchern unterhalten und Denkanstöße geben und mit der Musik in erster Linie rhythmische, schöne unkonventionelle Melodien entwickeln.

Leonhard Yngvi (aka Ingo Leonhard) is an author, composer, indie musician and multi-instrumentalist whose creative center is the piano. Based in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, he writes novels and composes music that defies strict categorization, moving fluidly between New Classics, Jazz, Blues, and Folk, often layered with electronic textures.
His musical journey began at the age of seven with classical piano lessons. Over the years, trumpet, saxophone, and other instruments followed. By seventeen, he was performing in blues and jazz bands, experiences that shaped his rhythmic sensitivity and improvisational approach. Today, Yngvi blends this background with digital production, opening new creative spaces and freeing himself from conventional stylistic boundaries.
As an author, he began writing alongside his profession in his late forties and published his first novels in 2011. Two more followed by 2021, and he is currently working on the next ones.
Yngvi’s philosophy is rooted in renewal: “Even at seventy and beyond, you can change your (musical) life and start again. It’s not easy, but if you’re willing to learn and stay open, it will work.” His aim is to create music that is rhythmic, beautiful, and unconventional melodies that invite listeners to experience something both familiar and unexpected.
In May 2025, Yngvi survived a cardiac arrest. This life-altering moment became the catalyst to finally dedicate himself fully to the music and as author he wishes to share and leave as a legacy. Since October 2025, he has been releasing his musical output publicly, opening a new chapter in a lifelong journey of sound and expression.
